• WW1 1917 field telephone in a wooden mahogany fitted case in good condition with age related wear and tear.The field telephone case is marked W.E.M. Co Ltd CII 5128 with the W/D arrow marked with the date 1917.The wooden case contains the workings of the field telephone with winding handle and hand set which is also dated 1917 and a paper label attached to the inside of the wooden case giving the wiring details.The wooden case is in good condition with two openings one to access the hand set and one to the generator,this side has no wooden cover in place.The leather handle is no longer in place but the remains are still present under the metal fixings and shows age related wear with the general condition being good on such a rare and hard to find item.The wooden cover which protects the hand set does not have the metal hook to fix the cover in place and the two stripes that run down the side have been removed so the hand set can be placed on the brass hooks when the cover is closed.The item is heavy and weights 8KG when packed, so international customers please contact me for postage costs,please see the photographs for further detail.
