The pattern 6353/1905 jack knife was updated in 1913 just before ww1 with changes to the grips and the three attachments being made from the best cast steel. This model of jack knife was used by the British army up until 1939 when it was replaced with a smaller variant. Some examples do have dates for when they were made with the ww1 period example normally being undated and without the W/D markings although this can vary.
