Description
WW2 / Post war commercial private purchase dagger and leather scabbard in good used condition. The dagger is unmarked although some makers did etch the blades but due to use and age has been lost.
The blade has the V shape by the cross guard that would indicate the blade has been hand ground the blade is 17.5cm long which is under seven inches. The dagger is just over eleven inches long with the brass pommel.
It has a handle made from leather washers with a brass cross guard which is tight to the blade and handle.
It shows age related colour which can be seen in the photographs.
The leather scabbard is complete with all its rivets in place and the leather strap to secure the handle of the dagger.
The poppers on the strap do work but do not snap together.
This type of private purchase commercial dagger were made during WW2 and into the post war years by companies such as Buck and Ryan, Taylors Eye Witness and Southern and Richardson.
