Description

WW2 American group of items all in good used condition with photographs. The group of items are from Earl N Miller 36416710 who enlisted on 29th December 1942.

The items consist of his garrison side cap named to Earl M Miller with his 18th infantry regiment badge in place, the badge is a single post with a thread fitting.

There are seven photographs of Earl and his friends , Earl can be seen in three of the photographs with a nice single portrait picture of Earl in his uniform.

Part of the group is a single general headquarters formation patch which is a green backed variant.

18th infantry regiment was part of the 1st infantry division that went in to Normandy on the 6th June 1944 the 18th infantry regiment was part of the landing forces that participated in the initial onset of operation overlord on Omaha beach.

Included with the group is confirmation of Earls enlistment with a brief history of the 18th infantry regiment. Further research needs to be done of this very interesting grouping.
