Description
German fire officials dirk Weimar republic period in very good condition. The dirk is just over 19 inches long with a blade that is just over 13 inches long, the dirk is maker marked for Carl Eickhorn with the mark used between 1921-33 this can be clearly seen in the photographs. The dirk has nickle silver pommel and cross guard the cross guard has a fireman’s helmet and crossed axes on one side with the pommel having a decorative pattern, the blade is double acid etched on both sides with a ladder and fireman’s helmet on one side and a axe and other tools on the otherside the acid etchings are clear and crisp to see in the photographs, the blade has no corrosion it is clean with very minor age related wear showing. the black leather covered handle is in very good condition as is the leather to the scabbard which has silver nickle fittings top and bottom with the two hanger rings also being silver nickle and non magnetic. The blade still has its cushion pad in place which is a felt like material and original to the dirk, I have tried to photograph every part of this item so please have a look at the photographs for further details.
