Description
Lee Metford 1888 ptn MK1 type 2 bayonet and leather scabbard matching numbers in good used condition.
The bayonet and scabbard have matching numbers on the pommel and the top of the scabbard showing the number 358.
The bayonet has a issue date of November 1895 it has the bend test mark with the war department arrow and inspection stamps still visible.
It has its original wooden grips in place with the two rivets and the oil hole just behind one of the rivets.
It has a full length blade is bright with age related wear showing in places which can be seen in the photographs.
The leather scabbard has its metal fittings tight to the leather shaft . The stitching on the seam is intact and the scabbard is dated 1890 with the war department arrow.
