WW1 British army pith helmet and cloth cover dated 1916 in very good condition.The pith helmet has W/D issue stamps with the date 1916 below along with a service number on the inside of the sweatband which shows signs of use.The pith helmet has its paper label still in place showing the size and makers details of Helmets Ltd of St Albans,the pith helmet is in very good condition for its age and does show age related wear which can be seen in the photographs.The pith helmet has its original leather chin strap and its original cloth cover which is also W/D stamped and has written inside Mess 40 then a service number,the service number on the helmet and cloth cover do not match so i would assume that they have been re-issued.A rare and interesting item in this condition,please see the photographs for further detail.
