Description
WW1 Officers private purchase haversack and shoulder strap in fair used condition. The haversack shows age related wear and tear to its finish but is complete.
It does have age related wear showing in places which have been photographed. One of the straps with the brass dog clips needs to be treated with care and on one side there material has suffered a tear but still fine for display.
The metal fittings show good age related colour. The two brass dog clips keep the shoulder strap in place with no issues.
The canvas type material is supple but does show age related colour and wear in places. The leather at the bottom of the haversack is complete and supple, again showing signs of use with age related colour.
The front of the haversack is secured by two leather straps and brass buckles.
Inside the haversack there are two compartments which have a cloth divider.
The minor haversack issues could be restored if that is your preference but at the moment it is in its original used condition and would be fine for display.
