WW2 40 ptn officers battledress tunic for the 17th DOGRA regiment of the Indian army in good used condition. The battledress has its label inside and is dated 1943 with the maker James A Stewart Dunmurry it is a size 9 with the war department arrow showing, the tunic also has an ink stamp with W arrow D and the date letter N again confirming the date of 1943 as the label is faint to see.
The insignia on the shoulder boards has been stitched into place with two cloth pips showing the rank of Lieutenant the formation patches are for the allied land forces south-east Asia (A.L.F.S.E.A.) The overall condition of the battle dress is very good its has a few small moth nips which have been photographed which you can see from the photographs are very minor, the tunic has all its buttons in place. The 17th D.O.G.R.A regiment fought in Malaya from 1941 to 1942 and then in Burma from 1942 to 1945 the regiment was made up from Indian hill soldiers and remained in the Indian army after independence and is still part of the Indian army today as the DOGRA regiment.
