Description
WW2 German M38 gasmask and cannister with all its webbing straps in place in very good condition. It retains 99% of its original painted finish with the original webbing straps and belt hook in place.
Inside of the cannister has a makers mark on the compartment for the spare lenses with a unit ink stamp this can be seen in the photographs. The compartment for the spare lenses still contains two spare sets of lenses both dated 1940.
The gasmask has a makers mark for BMW and dated 1942 and a FE37 filter which has good clear ink stamps for issue and services.
The gasmask rubber is in very good condition with no signs of the rubber breaking down though age, it is still pliable with no cracking.
Inside the rubber mask is maker marked BWZ as are the two lenses which are also dated 1942.
The metal parts of the face mask still retain their original painted finish and all the strapping to the gas mask with condition very good. One of the straps has a name written in ink this can be seen clearly but is not clear to read.
