Description
WW2 Italian-German campaign medal and replacement ribbon in good used condition. The medal is a bronze die struck base with a bronze wash finish the medal is 31.3mm in diameter and shows good detail.
It is a type three from the five different types made.
The medal is made by F.M Lorioli & Sons Milan and has the inscription Lorioli Milano on the back of the medal on the left hand side it also has the designers name De Marchis on the bottom of the outside rim just below the crocodile this can be seen in the photographs.
The award was only awarded to German troops from 1942 and in 1944 when the Italians switched sides to the allies the award was withdrawn although it was re-instituted in 1957. Please see the photographs for further detail.
