Description
American P17 Remington bayonet and scabbard in good used condition. The bayonet is maker marked for Remington with the date 1918 above the Remington trade mark.
Remington P17 bayonets with the date 1918 are rare to find as it was a manufacturing error.
The bayonet has the flaming grenade and bend test mark with an issue date of 1926. The bayonet shows minor age related wear with the pommel and cross guard still retaining its blued finish.
The blade of the bayonet is in good clean condition with its factory finish still intact and showing very minor age related colour. The bayonet retains its original wooden grips.
The leather scabbard is in good used condition and comes with a 39 ptn leather frog. The 39 ptn leather frog is in good condition with supple leather. The leather scabbard is marked Jewel and dated 1918 which is faint to see clearly.
