Description
Fairbairn-Sykes 2nd ptn commando dagger in good condition. The dagger is a modern example of the type used by special forces during WW2. The dagger is 29.5 cm 11.75 inches long with a blade length of 17.5 cm 6.80 inches with the blade being machine finished and in perfect condition.
The fit to the cross guard and blade is very good and tight as is the handle with its knurled finish crisp and showing good detail. The cross guard is marked with the war department arrow and marked Sheffield England, this has been photographed.
The dagger has its correct scabbard with supple leather and with all its stitching in place. The leather scabbard is in good condition with little signs of use.
The handle with the reverse knurling would suggest John Clarke & Sons as the maker who ceased trading in 1983.
