GERMAN SA 1933-35 DAGGER & SCABBARD GEBR.GRAFRATH
Description
German SA 1933-35 dagger and scabbard in good used condition. It has a makers mark for Gebr.Grafrath Solingen.
The maker is a rarity rating of level 7 on the McSarr scale.
The fruit wood handle has its eagle set in place and SA roundel both in good condition.
The wooden handle is with minor age related wear showing . It has a very nice aged colour showing to the wood. The metal fit on the nickel silver pommel and cross guard is good with minimal shrinkage.
It has the district mark he stamped on the cross guard which is for Hessen.
The blade has its acid etched makers name and inscription clear to see. The full length blade of the dagger has the usual scabbard scars.
It has has cross grain showing in places on the blade with signs of age.
The scabbard for the dagger has retained most of its original finish with some slight signs of age showing on the finish which is at 90% remaining this can be seen in the photographs.
The four screws retaining the nickel silver scabbard parts are in place with the two lower screws being replacement items.
The scabbard has two minor dings on the front with the ball in good condition. It is a very nice example in as found condition. All the silver nickel pommel, cross guard and scabbard fittings have a very nice age related colour.
It comes with its marked RZM M5/74 hanger in place as per the photographs. The maker is NoelIe & Hueck Lüdenscheid.
