Description
Rare 1903 bayonet and scabbard in very good used condition.The bayonet is a Wilkinson marked 1888 blade with many inspection marks and clearly dated 1903 with the Kings crown showing.The handle has the mark or Enfield on the end of the pommel with good wooden grips and clearly marked for the 3rd battalion Dorsetshire regiment with the number 354 just below the regimental marking. the blade of the bayonet is in very good condition with the machine marks still visible and a very clean bright finish showing.
The scabbard is in very good condition also with the leather finish showing good age colour and clearly marked with the war department arrow and a inspection mark followed by the date 1901. The metal fixtures top and bottom are again in the same condition as the rest of this very rare to find bayonet and scabbard.
