Description

WW1 Black watch officers private purchase khaki Balmoral bonnet named with a retailers label in good used condition. The bonnet is complete with no damage just signs of use and some wear and tear caused through age, the bonnet has a retailers label for Wm Anderson & Sons Ltd Edinburgh & Glasgow, the lining of the bonnet is quilted and shows little signs of use.The retailers label is named to D.S. Potts who served with the Royal Highlanders as a 2 L/T and gained promotion to L/T during his service, Donald Stuart Potts served in France and Belgium from the 11th December 1917 through to 12th February 1919 according to his medal card which a copy will be included in the sale of the bonnet. The bonnet retains the its original red hackle which was only used by the Black watch as far as I know with its other original wool fitments in place.A very rare item to find these days which I have tried to photograph giving a good clear view of the bonnets condition, please see the photographs for further detail.
