Description
WW1 British army otherranks service dress stiff cap in good used condition.The cap is a very rare example of the stiff service dress cap used by the B.E.F in 1914, this is a good used example with age related wear and tear. The cap does have a small tear in the lining and its shows age on the outside with the thread showing age related wear, it is complete with its original chin strap in place held with general service button on the side.The sweat band on the inside is a fabric/canvas type with a brown finish, it shows signs of use as does the lining in the cap.The cap has a badge for the Royal West Kent regiment which looks in keeping with the cap but i would not say it is original to the cap.The cap is a rare example to find i have a example in my own collection and this is only the second example i have seen in recent years,please see the photographs for further detail.
