Description
WW1 Imperial German court mounted 2nd iron cross and Hindenburg cross with swords in good used condition.
The 2nd class iron cross is maker marked on the ring with the letter S it is a fine example which is three part construction with an iron core showing age related wear.
It’s iron core retains some its black finish and shows good age related colour to the outer frame.
The makers mark of S could be one of three makers Heinrich Schneider , Schwartz , or Sedlazek.
The Hindenburg cross with swords is maker marked for O & B and is in good condition.
The medal ribbon on the medal bar shows age related wear which can be seen in the photographs.
The military pass book was issued on the 13th April 197 to Hans Hugo Brun, he was born on the 20th October 1891.
He served on the Somme 1917-18 as a radio section telegraphist.
He was awarded the 2nd class iron cross on the 10th June 1918.
