Description
WW2 2nd pattern Fairbairn-Sykes commando dagger in good used condition. The dagger has a plated nickel finish and on the cross guard has the number 56 with the war department arrow which is facing away from the number.
It is 29 cm 11.41 inches long with a blade length of 17 cm 6.69 inches with the blade being hand finished and showing age related wear to the bright finish.,
The fit to the cross guard and blade is very good and tight as is the handle with its knurled finish crisp showing good detail. It has correct scabbard with the square ended chape with this type used on both 2nd and 3rd pattern daggers.
The elastic strap on the scabbard has broken and left as found with the leather finish is in good condition with supple leather and with all its stitching in place.
