Description
WW2 American front seam fixed bale McCord steel helmet and liner in good used condition. The steel helmet shows age related wear to the top with a good percentage of its original finish still intact.
It has a heat stamp number 124B which dated its to May/June 1942. The steel helmet has its webbing chin straps in place with the brass catch in place.
The fibre liner has a makers mark for International moulded plastics who was contracted from April 1942. The front of the liner has a small stress fracture on the inside which does not go through to the outside.
All the webbing strapping inside the liner is complete with its neck strap marked A M Stay Co W 199 OM 39942 size 1. The leather sweatband shows signs of use with age related wear showing.
The liner strap is a post war replacement for display purposes.
The inside of the helmet is marked with a name and number details, just below these is E9103 n black ink. The details do give a point of research if required.
