Description
WW2 R.A.F regiment battledress tunic dated 1942 in good used condition. The tunic has all its original insignia still in place with woven shoulder titles and albatross patches showing above corporal stripes the stitching has been UV tested as per usual and everything is period stitched. The battledress has a medal bar which shows the ribbon for the 1939 star medal with the France and Germany star and defense medal showing, the tunic is named to 1309019 G W Morton this has also been written on the makers label. The makers label has the battledress showing as a 40 pattern tunic with a size number of 8 and the makers label having the size details of Height,chest and waist this can be seen in the photographs. The makers name is E Raffles & Co Ltd with the war department arrow just below, the tunic has pleats in the front pockets and original owner has had the lapel folded to suit his personal taste this is how the battledress came to me directly from the owners son. The battledress is in very good condition with only two very small moth nips that I can see, the battledress has all its buttons in place with one in a pocket and some train tickets found in the same pocket as the button with a date showing of September 1945 on one of the tickets. This battledress was part of a group from the family with the other battledress for his service with the Royal observer corps which will also be listed.
