Description
American Vietnam paratroopers steel helmet and Michell cover in good used condition. The Mitchell cover has a contract number dating it to 1965, it shows age related wear and tear with a field made rubber cover band in place.
The steel helmet is a McCord with a heat number of M337D giving it a manufacturing date of 1951-58. It has age related wear in places with its original finish still intact. The Mitchell cover has protected the steel helmet which can be seen from the wear on the cover.
It has a Marmac liner made in 1964 this print mark is faint to see with a 1972 dated headband and the nape strap showing a date for 1969. It has the paratrooper webbing chin straps in place making a nice period airborne liner.
The last photographs does show the Marmac liner details with the date 1964.
The webbing chin straps are North and Judd (airborne).
