Description
WW1 British army engineers field saw in its fitted leather case in very good condition dated 1917.The leather case is maker marked and dated 1917 and the saw is also maker marked and dated 1917 although the markings are not clear but have been photographed, all items are in very good condition and to have the cutting tool is rare as these are normally missing, the cutting tool is dated 1916.The two wooden handles are W/D marked and dated 1917 with makers details and the file is still in its compartment in the leather case, making a very nice display item. Some of the items such as the two wooden handles have very little signs of use which is very rare to find with this type of equipment, this is the best example i have ever seen of a engineers field saw and to be complete is very rare. Please see the photographs for further detail.
