Description
WW2 Homefront A.F.S section officer’s steel helmet in good used condition. The steel helmet is maker marked E.C C0 Ltd E Camelinat & Co Ltd Birmingham with a clear date of 1939. The steel helmet also has some more numbers which are the sheet metal batch numbers.
The liner is a mk1 liner with a maker’s mark of Helmets Ltd of WheatHampstead and is again dated 1939. The helmet maker and the maker for the liner are not often seen so rare makers to find.
The steel helmet has an inch and a half white band running all the way around the steel helmet this does vary at different points to sometimes one inch and six eighths.
The inside of the steel helmet retains its original factory finish with its original chin strap in place. The outside of the steel helmet shows age related wear caused through use the white band and the red painted letters A.F.S show age related wear in place.
