Description
WW2 R.A.F grouping for flight sergeant Jack Woollett (the general). The grouping consists of his King’s crown breast wing which is not padded and has a hessian backing.
Three photographs of Jack two are signed and the other one has his service history entered on the back. Jack has also signed a bit of card with part of a Maidstone address on the other side.
An invitation to a dance on the 18th February 1944 from No 24 air school in Johannesburg.
His brass R.A.F cap badge and a broached albatross badge marked for Firmin.
The small picture of Jack has his service history written on the back 1943-45 155 squadron, 1945-49 500 squadron.
He flew Tiger moth, Spitfire, Hurricane, Harvard, Mosquito and Gloster Meteor.
When in 155 squadron he was posted to the far east India and then when transferred to the 500 squadron he was based at West Malling.
Jack Woollett was born in Maidstone Kent and he did his flight training for pilot in South Africa.
A very nice group that can still be researched further.
