Description
WW1 Imperial German M17 steel helmet in good used condition. The steel helmet retains its original painted factory finish it has some age related wear in places but overall s in very good condition, the steel helmet has suffered a bullet strike at the back which the blast from the bullet can be seen and has caused the back rivet to come away, this has been photographed. The steel helmet is a size 62 with a makers mark of S.I which is for Eisenhuette Silesia, Paruschowitz Oberschlesien , the helmet has its three leather pads and padding in place held by the two front rivets which are tight to the steel helmet all three leather pad are maker marked and dated 1917 this has been photographed they do show age related wear and the leather is a little dry, the size marking has been stamped and on the other side of the steel helmet as well it is a little faint ink mark but can be seen in the photographs, please see the photographs for further details.
